Hints and Tips for understanding ergonomics in your workplace
Keep your elbows level or slightly higher then your wrists when operating your mouse at your workstation.
Sit and correct your posture at workstation then focus on your monitor setting your eye level 1/3 down from the top of the monitor screen.
If sitting at your workstation for more then 6 hours per day its highly recommended that a high density foam back and seat with 3 lever motion (full ergonomic) office chair is to be used.
With back problems I would recommend that a medical grade foam (dual density or gel infused) 3 x lever motion office chair be used for maximum comfort for long term siting at your workstation.
Regular movement (walking away from your workstation every 2 hours) is key to keeping up good posture and blood flow through the body for maintaining good health in the office.
Common Disorders That Can Occur In Your Workplace
Neck Flexion/Extension – neck tilted in the wrong ergonomic position for long periods of time.
Wrist Flexion/Extension – occurs when the wrist is either bent upwards or downwards at the wrist for long periods of time
Scoliosis – a condition where the spine is curved side to side or rotated. The spine from the back looks more like an “S” than straight line.
Static Posture – a body position fixed over time with muscle contraction but without motion.
